Case Study: Residential Hybrid Solar System in Sandy Bay

This case study outlines the supply and installation of a customized grid-hybrid solar system in Sandy Bay, Tasmania. Expert Energy Tasmania overcame design challenges to provide a reliable, efficient, and low-maintenance energy solution, significantly reducing the client's grid dependence and power bills.

Project Description

Supply and installation of a residential Customized/Optimised Grid-Hybrid solar power system.

Client Objective

To provide reliable and sustainable energy and improve the efficiency of the household energy consumption.

  • Challenging design due to multiple roof structures and alignments.
  • Multiple locations where shading would affect the production.
  • Limited locations for infrastructure installation.
  • Need for a system that is efficient and reliable.

Expert Energy Tasmania (EET) designed and installed an Optimised Grid-hybrid solar power system that met the client's needs. The system includes:

  • 13kW solar array with Hyundai solar panels with 25 year warranties
  • 2 x German engineered SMA sunny boy inverters with 10 year warranties.
  • 1 x Tesla Powerwall 2 
  • 1 x Tesla gateway 2.0
  • 34 Tigo Optimisers.
  • Tigo per panel monitoring platform.
  • Extra electrical work whilst we were on site.
